Opening Day Update 2008
Straddleline 2008 season is off and running. The park is experiencing the usual spring rain and mud. Leading up to opening day the MX track saw enough sunshine we were able to groom the track without sinking the dozer in the mud. The track was looking excellent and had a few changes to the layout.
The day before Straddleline opened to the public the rain returned and saturated the track for a full 24 hours before the park opened and continued for a couple of days. By Sunday the MX track had a good two feet of mud and was getting worse with every rain drop.
This mud did not seem to slow the number of people wanting to ride the track. Despite the mud Saturday and Sunday there was a line to get in the park about two thirds of the time up to 12 deep. All and all it was a great opening weekend no major injuries to report and only one or two people complained about the mud. Not sure why they complained, what did they expect Straddleline MX track is an out door facility and it is spring in Washington. That means rain, mud and wind.
The people who attended the opening weekend got to see the parks new logo, Even though it was not one of my designs, (hehe) the logo is excellent, clean and bright red and yellow. Currently it is above the concession stand and on a few signs around the park and it looks Great! Ill take a photo of the new logo and post it here soon.
It was great to see old friends and many new faces during the opening weekend. The word is getting out about Straddleline and how nice the facility is. The park saw more first time visitors and 4x4's than ever before and it looks like a trend that will continue as the park grows.
