Straddleline Flat Track
The flat track is 1/8th mile clay oval and one of the oldest outdoor
flat tracks in Washington. The track has been the location for Dinosaur
Daze Vintage Flat Track Event for too many years to count. The track
was built with the help from the Tacoma (Ducks) Motorcycle Club. It is
sad but the track may very well see its last season in use in 2007. In
an effort to keep noise down the track is being removed.
Don’t panic yet Straddleline is not forsaking it’s dirt track pilots or
fans. Straddleline is getting a new clay track that will be located in
front of the grand stands. The new track will be ¼ mile in length and
meet the requirements to host national events.
Straddleline already has the clay needed to build the track and the
funding is approved. Straddleline has been talking with some of the
clubs that host events at the park to get feedback on corner angles
pitch of bank etc. Straddleline’s new flat track will be first class
and fast. Having the covered grandstand to watch from and concession
stand next to it will make for great times at Straddleline.
